Room 22 Learns to use Aurasma

I have been working with Room 22 to help them create an aura using an app called Aurasma. Please watch the demo. The app allows us to create AR (augmented reality) experience. This could be one of the next big things in computing. Currently Apple is working on a big AR project. Read more.

Make it Fly

As a teacher it makes a difference if you try out what your students are doing. This is a game i made by following a built in scratch tutorial "Make it Fly!". I found following the tutorial makes it easy not to think to much. It good to be able to follow instructions and get a satisfactory outcome. But it also important to think about the process, understand how the code works. Be able to solve problems by reasoning thing out. Without soiling the fun of the activity I need to challenge my students thinking by keep questioning them about what they are doing. What is the key coding concepts we can learn from completing this activity? This could be a good question for my students. I think we need to question the code as we go. For example why was 250 used for x? Why was it important to repeat 100 change x by -5. Would any other values worked? If so how would the different values alter the outcomes?
